Admissions - Nursery Information

Children are eligible to start Nursery the term after they turn 3 years old. Admissions to Nursery are managed by the school. If you wish to apply for a place, please complete and return the Pupil Admission Form, Home School Agreement, Intimate Care form, and Acceptable Use Policy for Parents (see below). Please return completed documents to the school Admissions team by email to admissions@gilbertcolvin.redbridge.sch.uk, together with your child's birth certificate or passport and proof of your home address.

Please note that entry into the Nursery does not guarantee automatic entry into the main school. A new application must be submitted through the Redbridge Local Authority admissions website.

All families with a child aged 3 to 4 years are eligible for the universal offer of free early education, which provides up to 15 hours per week during term time (either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons). Due to changes in funding, some families may now be eligible for an additional 570 hours of childcare per year, equating to an extra 15 hours per week for 38 weeks. If you choose to access these additional hours, please be aware that you will need to make arrangements for childcare during school holiday periods.

The 30-hour free childcare entitlement is available to working families who meet the eligibility criteria. To apply or reconfirm your eligibility, please visit www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare.

Parents and carers can check their eligibility at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. The following helplines may also be helpful: HMRC at 0300 123 4097 and Redbridge FIND at 0800 587 7500.
