Gilbert Colvin Maths Ambassadors

Our Gilbert Colvin Maths Ambassadors have the very important role of promoting their passion and love for maths throughout the school.

Woking closely with Mrs Twyford, our Maths Ambassadors will undertake some of the following responsibilities:

  • Run and manage whole school maths competitions and maths’ themed days (such as Number Day, Number Confidence Week and National Numeracy Day)

  • Deliver presentations to the rest of the school about upcoming maths events

  • Support younger children with basic mathematical facts (times tables, number bonds, etc.)

  • Help upkeep maths displays around the school

  • Write news reports of what is happening in maths at Gilbert Colvin for our school website

Hi my name is Mirha and I am 10 years old.  My favourite topic in maths is long division.  I want to spread a love of mathematics around the school and want everyone to enjoy maths as much as I do.   I also love learning about art and painting.  I am proud of represent my school as a Maths Ambassador.

Hello, my name is Niksika and I like drawing and art.  My favourite thing about maths is long division because I like using my times tables.  I want to be a Maths Ambassador so I can help younger children learn and love maths.

Hi. My name is Alisha.  My hobbies outside of maths are reading and writing.  As a Maths Ambassador, I will help children to understand maths in different ways.  I will also encourage children to love maths as much as I do.  I am kind and helpful and free to talk about maths anytime.

My name is Aayaan.  I have a passion for trains (especially the British train system) and I have also memorised the whole tube map.  Maths is my favourite subject and I particularly enjoy learning about angles and algebra because I like working out unknown values.

Hi, I am Caterina and I am 10 years-old.  I really love maths and how challenging it is.  I also enjoy English and art.  I am really proud to be a Maths Ambassador because I want to show younger children that maths is really fun!

My name is Reuben and I am 10 years-old.  I am proud to be a Maths Ambassador because I love maths and want to help younger children understand maths better.  I love building Lego sets and reading any book by Jeff Kinney.
